Home / Bombers Fastpitch Growing The Indiana Region

Bombers Fastpitch Organization is extremely pleased to announce that we are expanding in the state of Indiana. Please welcome, Head Coach Jason Widmar and the Lady Scrappers 06 National team to the Bomber Nation!

The team had a record of 96-15-2 in 2020 with several top finishes throughout the Midwest. They finished 1st at the PGF Michigan State Championship, 1st at the USA Elite Select World Fastpitch Qualifier, were the USSSA Midwest National Champions, and finished the year ranked #22 Nationally and #1 in Indiana.

Head Coach Jason Widmar played collegiate baseball for 4 years at Purdue University and won an Indiana High School State Championship. He has been coaching fastpitch for over 10 years and during that time he has focused on building teams with meticulous fundamentals and creates an atmosphere that is intense and positive. He looks for players who love to compete and coaches them to not only be great but also a distinguished person off the field.

Assisting on the coaching staff is Dan Shubert who has been with Jason for 6 years. Dan oversees the catchers and has worked with college and pro players from the area to develop a vast knowledge of the game at a high level. Former collegiate softball player Laurren Ladwig has been with the team for the last 2 years. She was a 4-year starter in college and was awarded freshman of the year in 2015. She set a school single-season record of 19 home runs in a single season and named 1st team All American. She handles the team’s offensive game planning. Rounding out the staff is JJ Douglas who comes to the team with a strong baseball background before transitioning to softball. A tremendous asset to the staff, he coaches the outfielders and also oversees the team’s video, marketing, and social media for the players.

Please join me in welcoming them to the Bomber Family!!!
