Bombers Fastpitch Grows In The State Of Texas

The Bombers Fastpitch Organization would like to announce the addition of 3 new teams based out of the Brownwood, Texas area led by Amanda and David Sheffield. We are excited to welcome the players, coaches, and their families to the Bomber Nation. The new Bomber 8u, 10u, and 12u teams will be coached at a high level and compete against the top teams in the country.

David and Amanda Sheffield have been around the baseball and softball world since their childhoods. Amanda attended the University of Dallas for two years and finished her career at Howard Payne University, playing both college basketball and softball. While in college, she was a two-time All-American in Softball and Basketball. She was voted Conference New Comer of the Year, All-Region, First Team All-Conference, and led the nation in 2003 in triples hit in a season in NCAA Division III softball. Amanda Has coached at the High School level for 15 years, where she led the Brownwood High School Softball team to numerous District, Bi-District, Area, and Regional titles. Amanda also had Brownwood’s first girl athlete sign a Division I scholarship and helped several others fulfill their dream to play at the next level. Amanda was named her District’s Coach of the Year and coached the Big Countries South All-Star team. David was a local standout at Bangs High School and then played his college baseball at Howard Payne University.

David and Amanda have coached travel ball for three years now and have compiled over 250 wins and numerous Tournament Championships. From the start of the Spring/Summer season of 2020 until the end of Spring/Summer 2021, their 10U had a record of 101 wins and 20 losses with back-to-back USA Softball of Texas State Runner ups in the Gold Bracket and over 10 Tournament Championship wins.

Their 2021 12U team finished with a record of 39 wins and 13 loses and several 1 and 2nd place finishes and took 4th in the Gold bracket at the USA Softball of Texas State Tournament.

Both Amanda and David serve as District 12 Commissioners for USA Softball. They have a passion for softball and a desire to use their passion to help players achieve their success. The Sheffield’s have been married 10 years and love spending time with their 3 children: Corinne, Scout, and Hap
