Bombers Fastpitch Organization is extremely pleased to announce that the former TN Mojo Florida 14u-Gunkel team will be joining the Bombers Fastpitch Program. Please help us welcome the newly proclaimed Florida Bombers Gold 16u – Gunkel team! We are excited to welcome the players, coaches, and their families to the Bombers Fastpitch Organization.

The team’s coaching staff will be led by Head Coach Caitlin Griffis. “Coach Griff” played college softball at Lake-Sumter Community College prior to graduating from UCF. Coach Griff is currently the Head Softball Coach at Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida and was named 4A Florida Coach of the Year after leading the Eagles to the State Tournament in 2018. During her tenure, MVA has won 5 District Championship’s, 2 Regional Titles, a Final Four appearance and State Runner-up.

Ryan Gunkel is the General Manager & Assistant Coach and has been heavily involved in Elite level travel ball coaching for many years and has had the opportunity to coach with and learn from some of the best coaches in Central Florida.

As they move to be a part of the Bombers Fastpitch Organization to build on the success they’ve already had and gain full access to the Bombers player development staff, coaches training workshops, and recruiting seminars. They will also benefit from the discounts offered by the program’s sponsors Easton, New Balance, and Black Star Athletics.

Florida Bombers Gold 16U-Gunkel will be holding tryouts on August 11th & 15th at the Montverde Academy Softball Complex. Distance is not a factor as we are looking to add Elite level 07 & 08 talent at all positions as we transition into 16U for the fall 2022 season. We will be playing a very competitive regional schedule consisting of College Showcases and Elite level tournaments with events in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee.
